Emily, did you ever see Warren Plath's obituary? He said he was glad not to die while Trump was president and asked for donations to Planned Parenthood. Imagine what SP would have been up to if that's her brother!

I did not!! Looking now. Strangely, he lived most of his adult life in two small towns in NY state, Tarrytown and Mt. Kisco. My mother grew up in the first and her sister settled down with her family in the second, where we visited all the time throughout my childhood.

The thing about "Daddy," which is a poem I taught for years is the cadence it imposes. Much like a death march.

Yep. Or a nursery rhyme. With German pronouns, as Diane Middlebrook so brilliantly wrote.

"It is past time to refuse our complicity in the Israeli-American genocide of Palestine." No comment on Hamas and Hezbollah killing Palestinians? Right now Gazans are trying to protest against Hamas' oppression and many have been killed by Hamas. How about calling for students to protest Hamas and demand that Hamas stop getting weapons and arms to save Palestinian lives?

Why is it that Americans call the "genocide" American, British people say the UK is complicit because the UK makes bombs and weapons, Australians denounce Australia as being responsible for Gaza? Is it some strange kind of self hatred that's projected on Israel along with other things about their country they don't like?

I'm fairly sure it's because all three of those groups are noting their countries' complicity and support of genocide. It seems straightforward to me.

So when Hamas kills 1200 people, rapes women, kills them. booby traps their bodies after mutilating their vaginas with nails and knives and cutting off their breasts, that’s fine, but Israel fighting to free women hostages and child hostages- that’s “genocide”, and any country opposing Hamas is “complicit”?

You appear to share the cognitive dissonance I’ve seen in the “Pro Palestine” movement, where despite all the claims of wanting to free Palestinians and caring for Palestinians, there’s no outcry or opposition of Palestinians being oppressed by Hamas, the PA, Hezbollah, the PFLP, or other militant groups, no outcry even Palestinians are killed by them or other countries. Over 4000 Palestinians have been killed by Syria, but no Pro Palestinians speak out. If they can’t blame Israel, they don’t care. If they can’t blame Jews, they’re not interested. If they can’t accuse the US or the West of being “complicit” they don’t want to know.

What really offends me as a woman is lack of inclusion for women who have been raped if those women happen to be Jewish. Me Too unless you’re a Jew. So much for protecting and believing all victims of sexual violence. Hypocrite.
