Hi Emily, I'm a new follower of your Substack, and I read your essay twice! I'm pre-ordering your book, which I can't wait to read. Reading Red Comet last year really opened me up to Plath (rather late in life). Thanks for this thought-provoking essay.
Glorious and deeply impactful writing as always, Emily. I can't wait to read your book. It sounds like it will be a much-needed and long-ignored perspective on Plath and her work.
This is so wonderful!! My renewed curiosity about Plath as a result of Taylor Swift's new album has been incredibly stimulating, I'm learning so much I didn't know (but suspected) about her and Hughes relationship. It's fascinating how we are able to look at things with a much wisened perspective when we've suffered our own difficult relationships abusive with men.

Thank you, Philippa! That's so generous of you.
Brava! Very well done. 🥰
"...the greatest of these is love."
Hi Gail! Huge thanks for this. Red Comet is a terrific book; so grateful for Heather's scholarship on Plath. It was invaluable to me, writing LSP.
