[Image description: The poet Robin Morgan, about 30-years old at the time, reads from a book of poetry in a group of women, probably those wily feminists.]
Last week, I had the honor and joy and, frankly, glee, because she made me laugh so many times, of being interviewed by the legendary Robin Morgan for her podcast, Women’s Media Center Live with Robin Morgan. If you read this newsletter, you are surely familiar with Robin Morgan, the feminist activist and poet who first helped us understand that Plath’s work was grounded in feminist ideals when she published her as part of the 1970 anthology Sisterhood Is Powerful.
Robin’s work has continued with an unabashed dedication to art and politics; she recently published her ninth book of poetry. She is a force for good trouble in the world. I adore her, and her work.
If you haven’t yet read Loving Sylvia Plath: A Reclamation, I hope you do, if only to discover her groundbreaking work on Plath, which is covered extensively in the book.
She was unjustly maligned by Ted and Olwyn Hughes, and many powerful writers and critics, for her brave and brilliant work. Here’s hoping we are past that era for good. I couldn’t have written this book without her.
Congrats, thrilled for you! Looking forward to listening to it!!
How exciting
